The Emergency Relief Outreach in Benue State is one of Oma HelpingHands Foundation’s core humanitarian responses for communities struggling with conflict and hardship. It was set up to provide urgent food and household support to families displaced or badly affected by crises.
During the outreach, families received essentials like rice, noodles, garri, and cooking oil, together with toiletries and other relief items. Hundreds of men, women, and children benefited from the effort—many of them had endured several days with little or no food before help reached them. Volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure an orderly distribution, and the joy and relief on the faces of the beneficiaries testified to the great need being met.
Beyond quick relief, this work fits our mission to restore dignity and hope. By giving food and basic supplies in emergencies, we help families recover faster and combat hunger, malnutrition, and despair. This way, they don’t get worse.
The outreach also created opportunities for direct engagement with the community, allowing the team to listen to their needs and consider sustainable follow-up programs such as vocational training and education sponsorships.
The Emergency Relief Outreach remains a crucial aspect of our work and charity in Nigeria, ensuring that no family is left behind in times of difficulty.
