Introduction
In rural Nigeria, many women and young people struggle to earn a stable income due to a lack of skills and resources. Without opportunity, poverty continues from one generation to the next.
At Oma HelpingHands Foundation, we provide practical training programs that empower individuals to earn, live with dignity, and build independent, sustainable livelihoods.
What We Do
We offer hands-on training in tailoring, hairdressing, flooring Installation, and small business management, equipping participants with the practical skills needed to find work or start small enterprises. Each program is shaped by local needs, ensuring relevance and long-term value.
Beyond training, participants receive mentorship, start-up kits, and small financial assistance to help them turn learning into income. By combining skill-building with empowerment, we help individuals and youth gain confidence, stability, and self-reliance.
Impact of Our Work
▪Skills Development: Participants learn trades such as tailoring, flooring installation, and agriculture —often their first step toward earning a steady income and building better futures for their families.
▪Women’s Empowerment: Women gain new skills, resources, and confidence to support their families, take leadership roles, and inspire others in their communities.
▪Business Growth: With start-up kits, mentorship, and small support funds, graduates open shops and services that strengthen both their families and their local economies.
Future Goals:
We aim to expand our training centers, add new trades such as technology, solar installation, and small-scale agriculture, and create empowerment hubs where graduates can teach others—spreading opportunity across regions.
